What are some good dog tricks?
I have a 6 month old English Cocker Spaniel. We have taken him to 2 obedience classes (puppy 1 and 2) and he knows the basic obedience commands of sit, down, come, wait, stay, etc. We also taught him to shake hands.
What are some other cute tricks that he could do? He’s very smart and very food motivated, so he’s a pretty fast learner. If you could include instructions on how to teach him the tricks that would be great. Thanks!
Play Dead-
First of all you have to teach him do lie down by pointing to the floor, no words being said, once you got that mastered, basically get him to sit and hold 2 fingers up at him like a gun, make a bang or pow noise and act as though you are shooting the floor, he will eventually realise he has to lay down when you go pow or bang or what ever, and my dog even half flops which is awesome.
Beg-
Get him to put both paws on your arm and when he’s in a beg position say beg and reward him, keep doing this over and over and eventually get him so his back is propped up to help him and take your arms away still saying beg and rewarding him, then with alot of practuse he will do it on command with out any help
