Advice on potty training a dog?

I just got a puppy … it is not broken home … so I have the pleasure of Training … tips?

I potty trained both my dogs by pairing to me while I was at home with them. Of This way I could keep an eye on when they would go. The key is to catch them before or in the act and praise or relocate outside accordingly.
